Thanks to Our Heros!

Memorial Day is one of my favorite holidays. There are many things I enjoy during this holiday like the added time off from work, the BBQ’s, the boating and other family fun activities. While these are certainly things that I enjoy, the reason it is one of my favorites is because of what Memorial Day stands for.

We are honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Memorial Day is an American holiday held to honor those who died while serving in the United States Military. Being a US Navy veteran, I may have a little more connection to this holiday than most, but not near as much as someone who has lost a family member or a friend. These fallen men and women gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in freedom.

Choose to celebrate the positives.

As we spend time with our families and friends on this Memorial Day it is likely to be a little different from years past. Some won’t be able to have all their friends and family to celebrate because of isolation. Many of the parades won’t be happening this year and I have heard that in some places even the flags won’t be out like normal years. With all this said, I think if we choose, we can have one of the best Memorial Days ever. After all, aren’t many of our good times a result of our state of mind and being thankful for all the positives in our life? I’m going to choose to focus on trying to make this the best Memorial Day ever and I hope you will too.

What does this have to do with Senior Living and CRM?

Many times, residents in Senior Living communities are veterans. Just like many of you reading this, they also have residents who have lost a family member or friend to the service to our country. You may also have prospects that are undecided if they are moving into your community or into another community. If you have this data at your fingertips you could set up an event for these special people on this special day, send them a card or send them an email.

Does your CRM help you capture and utilize this valuable information?

  • Which residents or prospects are veterans?
  • Who are the spouses of veterans?
  • What civic or veteran organizations do they belong to?

Personal data in your CRM helps you to achieve better sales but can also be used to better serve and build stronger relationships with your residents and prospects.
